WEEK 2

At the beginning of the class, the teacher randomly selected a few “lucky” students to come on stage and share their game design plans. The atmosphere was both tense and exciting. I was really nervous, my heart was pounding, worried that I might be chosen — but luckily, my name wasn’t called this time. This allowed me to calmly listen to my classmates’ presentations and gain many new ideas and perspectives from their work.

Their game concepts were quite diverse: some focused on level-clearing gameplay, others on puzzle solving, and some were about growth and nurturing. My project falls under the parkour category, which is quite different from theirs. This variety was actually very interesting to me, and it also gave me more inspiration and room to think about how to expand my own design.

Later, the teacher taught us the basics of using Blender and how to import Blender projects into Godot.

WEEK 3

This week, many classmates shared their experiences and insights in game modeling. After that, everyone was divided into several groups to work on Assignment 1.

Our group has seven members, and we need to further refine our game concept after class. We drew inspiration from the Chocolate Factory for our creation.

WEEK 4

This week is presentation week.

Our project is a continuation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so we designed four small games based on the characters from the movie.

Although we finished our presentation smoothly, the teacher was not fully satisfied. He said our idea — mixing many games together — was not very effective. He also suggested that we add more pictures and turn our ideas into visuals.

So, we plan to revise our work carefully after class according to the teacher’s feedback.
